the New York Yankees next year and that his choice is move on to another team or
retire.

Speaking Wednesday before his foundation’s annual dinner, Posada said his
agents had heard from about a half-dozen teams who had expressed interest.

He said he probably will wait until shortly before the start of spring
training in February to make a decision.

Posada said after spending his entire big league career with the Yankees he

NEW YORK, Sept. 7 (UPI) — Francisco Cervelli and Brett Gardner hit back-to-back seventh-inning home runs Tuesday and the New York Yankees beat Baltimore 5-3.

The Yankees got a third-inning solo home run and two runs scored from Jorge Posada in their sixth straight win. Second-place Boston won Tuesday, to stay within 2 1/2 games of New York in the American League East.

Yankees starter Phil Hughes went six innings, allowing two runs on five hits. Cory Wade (4-0) got the win in relief.

Cervelli and Gardner homered off of Orioles starter Tommy Hunter (3-3), who allowed five runs — four earned — on five hits and two walks in 6 2/3 innings.

The game started 4 hours late because of a rain delay and wasn’t over until 2:20 a.m. EDT.

New York Yankees become 1st major league team ever…

NEW YORK, New York — The New York Yankees became the first team in major league history to hit three grand slams in a game, with Robinson Cano, Russell Martin and Curtis Granderson connecting Thursday in a wet, wild 22-9 romp over the Oakland Athletics.

In nearly a century of storied slugging, the Yankees had never enjoyed a day like this.

On a dreary afternoon, some fans headed home with the Yankees trailing 7-1 after three innings and rain still falling in a game that began after an 89-minute delay.

Turns out they missed the Yankees coming home — over and over and over.

Cano began the barrage with his slam in the fifth off starter Rich Harden, making it 7-6. Martin connected in the sixth off Fautino De Los Santos for a 10-7 lead. Granderson took his turn in eighth, launching a two-out drive off Bruce Billings.

Martin homered twice and doubled, setting career highs with five hits and six RBIs. Cano drove in five runs as the Yankees pulled off their biggest comeback win since 2006 and avoided a three-game sweep.

With MLB approaching its 200,000th regular season game next month, the Yankees put on a unique show with their bats — and gloves, too.

Former All-Star catcher Jorge Posada made his first career appearance at second base and had the final play, fielding a grounder and firing a one-hop throw that knocked over first baseman Nick Swisher and left him laughing as he caught it.

What do you guys think about this.

MLB: New York Yankees 9, Tampa Bay 2

Published: Aug. 13, 2011 at 8:12 PM

NEW YORK, Aug. 13 (UPI) — Jorge Posada belted a grand slam and drove in two more runs Saturday, powering the New York Yankees’ 9-2 rout of Tampa Bay.

Posada, who lost his starting job in the Yankees’ lineup last week, made a curtain call out of the team’s dugout Saturday after putting the game away with his bases-loaded blast in the fifth inning.

It was switch-hitter’s best offensive game in almost five years after spending the last five games on the Yankees bench. He finished the day 3-for-5 with his 10th career grand slam.

Curtis Granderson socked his 33rd homer and Phil Hughes (3-4) picked up the victory with six innings of two-run ball, striking out six.

Tampa Bay’s Jeremy Hellickson (10-8) was touched for four runs on eight hits over 4 1/3 frames.

Desmond Jennings hit a solo homer for the Rays.

Running low on time today, i’ll be back tomorrow hopefully with some more news.

MLB: Baltimore 4, New York Yankees 2

NEW YORK, July 30 (UPI) — A two-run homer by Mark Reynolds staked Baltimore to an early lead Friday and the Orioles held on to down the New York Yankees 4-2.

Baltimore had lost 30 of its last 37 meetings with the Yankees, including all six this season prior to Friday’s game. The contest was delayed by rain at the start for almost 2 hours.

Reynolds hit his homer in the second and the Orioles built a 4-0 lead on an RBI double by Derrek Lee in the fourth and a solo homer from Lee in the sixth.

Baltimore took a 4-1 advantage into the ninth and New York quickly cut its deficit to two when Robinson Cano and Nick Swisher delivered doubles to open the inning.

Gregg gave up a one-out walk to Jorge Posada, but a groundout and a strikeout ended the game and gave him his 17th save.

The win went to Jeremy Guthrie (5-14), who gave up a run on four hits in seven innings.

A.J. Burnett (8-9) struck out 10, but surrendered four runs on five hits in eight innings to take the loss.
